This Week on the Bachelor

Brad is up against one of the biggest challenges in the dating game this week. He has to face four sets of parents and even extended family members in his efforts to learn more about the women he has to choose from in the imminent future. His experience with Jenni’s parents is both good and bad. Although her mother is not a problem, her grandmother is very inquisitive and wonders if he has a drinking problem, because he owns a bar. When he meets Sheena’s parents, he is greeted with hospitality and a beautiful, scenic boat ride, but confronted with an overly aggressive Mother who believes that the stars have aligned to bring her daughter and this man she has just met together. When the pair, Sheena and Brad hit the hot tub later in the evening she appears content and also excited that her family has accepted him.

Brad doesn’t seem turned off by her overly ecstatic family, but still appears unsure about Sheena and his feelings for her. When he visits DeAnna’s family he finds himself right in the middle of the popular movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Various extended family members show up uninvited and they all dance around while drinking extremely toxic alcohol. Brad is excited by the prospect of learning about a new culture, and obviously enchanted by DeAnna’s unique beauty. He leaves her family feeling enlightened in regards to learning about culture and gaining a deeper understanding of DeAnna, whom he views as a strong and independent woman. His trip to the nation’s capitol to meet Bettina’s parents does not go as smoothly as the others have.He enters her home and is immediately chastised by her mother, step-mother and father. Bettina’s father holds a PHD and is appalled to find out that his daughter is getting involved with a common man with no education. Brad is a bar owner, and Bettina’s family feel that such a man could never be a match for their daughter. It is obvious that Bettina’s Dad has a lingering attachment to her ex husband. Brad discusses the awful experience with Bettina and it seems as if his strong attraction to her could fade because of the tension between her family and him. Yet, he shocks us all at the end when he still gives Bettina a rose. He must be really into the slim, blonde realtor to be able to look past that her family basically hates him. Brad sends Sheena home, because he doesn’t feel any chemistry. As usual, she is heartbroken and feels that she has fallen in love. Hopefully tomorrow she will get over and find someone new.
