Interview With Josh and Shay From Beauty And The Geek 4

Boy was I bummed to see Josh and Shay get booted from this weeks Beauty And The Geek. They had to be one of the funniest teams I have watched this season and they will be missed. I was surprised to find out the drama between William and Jen is much bigger than viewers are seeing on the televised episodes. Shay said Jen was ready to knock Williams ass out at one point during filming. Well….on to the interview

Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: Why did you decide to try out for Beauty and the Geek and did you ever see season one, two, or three?

A. Shay, Beauty and the Geek: My sister was at her salon one day when someone came into the salon talking about the open casting call. I also heard about it on the radio and at first I didn’t want to go audition, but later I thought to myself “why not” so I went to the audition and made it on the show.

A. Josh: There was a message going around on the Princeton listserv about the show but I wasn’t interested. Later I received an email from a friend who thought I should try out so I gave it a shot. I had never watched prior seasons of Beauty and the Geek.

Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: What was your favorite and least favorite challenge while on Beauty and The Geek?

A. Shay, Beauty and the Geek: My favorite challenge was the teaching challenge that I also won. My least favorite challenge was last nights bug challenge, I was crying like a baby.

A. Josh, Beauty and the Geek: My favorite challenge was the salsa dance challenge. I like to dance but I also liked the fact we got a nice trip to Mexico. My least favorite challenge was the superhero challenge. Making the superhero outfit was tedious and frustrating.

Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: Talk to me about Sam, do you guys feel cheated he did so well on the challenges and had such an advantage.

A. Shay, Beauty and the Geek: Sam and I actually got along very well which was not shown on camera. Sam is very cool but if you think about it he has been trained from a very young age to memorize scripts and information quickly which helped him in the challenges. I wouldn’t say he is more intelligent than the other beauties but he has been professionally trained. We just wanted to see other people win some challenges. I know Natalie really wanted Sam out of the game.

A. Josh, Beauty and the Geek: I mostly agree with Shay, Sam is a very cool guy but he kept winning the challenges and that got a little annoying. Several of the challenges were not blow outs like they appeared on TV. For example, Sam won the rocket challenge but it was a much closer race to the finish than it appeared on TV.

Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: What about William and Jen, he really doesn’t seem to like her. Do you guys think this could be a plan of theirs to stay on longer?

A. Shay, Beauty and the Geek: To be honest, what you saw on TV was played down. Jen was about to knock the living crap out of William. The problem is this: William took one instance in his life in which he had a bad experience with a certain group of people and now writes off anyone he meets in life that reminds him of that instance or group.

I am from the south and I have heard some of the most outrageous things in my life but I won’t single out or write off people I come into contact with that remind me of those people or things I have heard, that’s just ignorant.

A. Josh, Beauty and the Geek: Shay knew more about it than I did. I had no idea things were going wrong with Jen and William until we all went to Mexico.

Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: Shay did you have fun watching Josh mix drinks? And Josh were you proud of Shay for getting all the bugs boxed up?

A. Shay, Beauty and the Geek: Oh my goodness I watched it last night with my sister and we loved it. It’s funny that one of the smartest guys in the world would try and twirl an open container of milk. It was a blast and we got a great laugh watching it.

A. Josh, Beauty and the Geek: Watching it last night looked much funnier on TV than it was in real life.

Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: Shay, last night as the show closed you said you would not be the way you were after being on the show. Can you tell me more about this?

A. Shay, Beauty and the Geek: I was a bit judgmental before the show, now I tell myself “Shay, who the hell are you to think this way.” I thank God for placing me on that show, it really did change me.

Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: Shay after the show is over are you going to go see Josh and help him with his clothes, hair, and so on?

A. Shay, Beauty and the Geek: We will definitely be in contact. He may not know it, but he is coming to my family reunion.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Where do you live now?

A. Shay, Beauty and the Geek: Right now I am in Arkansas, but I plan on moving to Los Angeles. I have a ticket ready to go see him wherever he is.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Josh, I guess Shay is ready to see you after the finale. Where are you living right now?

A. Josh, Beauty and the Geek: Right now I am in Princeton but not much longer, I will be moving to Maryland for a new job soon.

Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: What’s next for you two, has the show changed your future plans?

A. Shay, Beauty and the Geek: Right now I am in my last semester of school finishing up my degree in communications. I do some modeling but basically just go with the flow.

A. Josh, Beauty and the Geek: I am starting a new phase of my life right now since I am about to finish school and move to Maryland. I have not changed my career path but I think I can use much of what I learned on the show in my career and life.

Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: Do you have a myspace for fans to say hi?

A. Shay, Beauty and the Geek:
