Interview With James Sunderland Executive Producer Of Americas Got Talent
Author's web site:
Q. Jason (RealityWanted.com) What types of acts are you looking for and what mistakes have people made when applying for past seasons?
A. James Sunderland, Executive Producer, Americas Got Talent: We are looking for absolutely anything! That’s the truly unique thing about Americas Got Talent - we are the only talent show open to people (and animals!) of any age, any talent! We have seen everything come into out audition rooms - good and bad. I think that’s one of the reasons why viewers enjoy the show so much because you really don’t know what is coming next. You could be enjoying a great Dance group, then a singer, and then a stripping monkey - there really are no limits on this show.
Q. Jason (RealityWanted.com) What is the strangest? Most memorable act you have seen?
A. James Sunderland, Executive Producer, Americas Got Talent: I think David and Dania, Quick Change is one of the most memorable acts ever seen, not just on Americas Got Talent but on TV ever. They have now been viewed over 21 million times on You Tube. If you haven’t seen it, you have to check it out and see if you can tell how they do it! After Americas Got Talent they took their act all over the world and even performed for the British Royal Family.
Also Terry Fator, our season 2 winner is an incredible talent. Not only does he do the best impressions of people like Kermit, Louis Armstrong and Garth Brooks, but all without moving his lips! A singing Ventriloquist - now that sums up Americas Got Talent! Thanks to Americas Got Talent, Terry signed a 1.5 million dollar deal and fulfilled his lifelong dream of headlining in Las Vegas where he can be seen at the Hilton starting on December 31st 2007.
Q. Jason (RealityWanted.com) What can viewers expect to see in Season 3 that they haven’t seen in the past? Are there any twists or changes in the judges panel?
A. James Sunderland, Executive Producer, Americas Got Talent: Season 3 is going to be the biggest season yet. We are holding auditions in twice as many cities for this year which means the talent will be all the more diverse!
Q. Jason (RealityWanted.com) Why would a singer try out for AGT vs. American Idol?
A. James Sunderland, Executive Producer, Americas Got Talent: That’s a great question, and all I can do is repeat that we are open to singers of all ages. Idol invites applications up to 29 years of age. We take singers of all ages.
