Interview with Samantha from America’s Next Top Model 8! Why talk on her twat caused her tension!

Interview with Samantha from America’s Next Top Model 8!
By Jackie Helm

I was highly anticipating my chat with Samantha soley so I could confirm Jay Manuel’s use of the word pussy.  She feels thats what made her flub in her photo shoot.  Samantha’s interview validated that she’s too green for the fashion industry; however, she still wants to be a model.

Hi Samantha, what made you want to be a part of the show?

“I really want to be a model and even if I didn’t win I thought this would be a great opportunity to get my face out there and get a little experience under my belt.”

Did you have any prior modeling experience?

“No I haven’t.  The only think I’ve done is taken pictures for my friend for her photography class.”

What are your best memories from being on the show?

“The first photo shoot was one of them.  It was my first time in front of the camera with a professional photographer and it just so happened to be Nigel.  It was a great experience, especially the feedback after the panel.”

When you were next to Natasha in the bottom two, did you know it would be you to be eliminated?

“At one point I thought it would be me, then at one point I thought it would be her.  But once they said they saw something beautiful inside of her I knew it would be me.”

What is your interpretation of why it was you to go?

“For the reality party of the show I wasn’t causing enough drama.  I wasn’t one of the main ones who was getting into it with the other girls.  That’s the only reason I can see getting eliminated.  Because they said I have great pictures, I look great on film and I can translate from person to film.  But they said Natasha couldn’t, but she has a personality.  So that’s what I got from it.”

Why did you find your photo shoot posing as a “hoe” to be so difficult?

“It wasn’t the topic.  It was the clothes.  It was hard to model in the outfit I had.  It was hard to move in certain positions because it would make the clothes look bad.  I was trying to do my best but then Jay made a comment that completely broke my concentration.  After that it was all downhill.”

Did he say, “put your hands on your thighs and pretend you are totally involved with your pussy”?

“Ya, pretty much.”

Weren’t you aware that the modeling industry is a little more hard core than typical professions?

“I know I’ve got to toughen up a little bit but for some reason I just let that get to me.  I usually wouldn’t let that get to me.  But that day it did. And it came back and I ended up getting kicked off.  Its okay, I am going to make it outside of top model.  I don’t want to be a reality TV star.  I just wanted to be a model.  I wanted to be on the show because I thought it was America’s Next Top Model.  Not America’s Next Top Personality.  But it’s going to be okay.  That one photo shoot screwed me over in the competition but that doesn’t mean I am not gong to make it outside of Top Model.”

Regarding the uncomfortable clothes, Top Model has taught us that modeling isn’t always easy?  Have you seen previous episodes the girls had to hang in the air and still make the clothes look good?

“I’ve seen all of the seasons and I understand you are going to have to put yourself out there and do things that you aren’t comfortable with.  But this was like my second time doing a real photo session in front of a photographer and it was stressful.  I think it all hit me and the comment that Jay made broke my concentration.  I tried my best and that’s all I can do.”

On the show you mentioned you didn’t fit in with the girls.  What was the biggest difference between you and them?

“I find my self to be mature, I don’t run around naked.  I don’t get trashed before photo shoots.  I try not to talk about other people and cut people down.  Some of the girls were very compassionate towards other girls and some of them weren’t.  They didn’t care and it was all about them and they wanted all the attention.  I wasn’t there to get all the attention and be a TV star.  I wanted to model.”

What girls do you feel were like that?

“Jaslene is like, “I am the best I can do this better than you, I am gonna put up these walls and not care about you I am just going to care about myself.”  She is one of these girls that are like, “I am not here to make friends I am here to win the competition.”  That’s one of them.”

Some of the girls were getting crunked before the shoots?

“There was and if you were under 21 you were not allowed to even touch the bottle or you would have gotten in a lot of trouble.  That was the reason that Jael was running around without her top on and in her underwear.  Even if I was legal I don’t think that I would do that before a photo shoot.  Because you wake up and don’t look good.  Your skin is not at its best the next morning.  I don’t think I would want to do anything to compromise my photos.”

If you could do anything differently what would it be?

“I wouldn’t do anything differently.  I wish I could edit it myself.  That way I could have shown myself actually talking to the other girls.  I got really close with Renee, Brittany, Sarah and a lot of the other girls.  It showed me doing nothing but sitting in my room and talking on the phone.  But that wasn’t in my hands I didn’t have any choice in that.  I was very talkative, silly and I had a good time.  I wish they would have shown that.”

What are your plans now and are you going to continue to purse modeling?

“When I go back home I am going to get my portfolio together and meet with some different agencies and see what they think and hopefully continue.”

Thank you for talking with me today.  Do you last words or shout outs?

“I just want to say that I am very grateful for the opportunity and it has definitely confirmed for me that this is what I want to do for as long as I can.”

I wish you the best of luck Samantha.

“Thank you.”
