Interview with Jaime Dugan from CBS’s Survivor China

Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: What got you interested in doing Survivor? Did you watch it in the past and go, “I can do that!”
A. Jaime Dugan Survivor China: I am a fan and love the show. It’s ironic that I am on the show, since I once told my mom that I didn’t know why people would do this for a million dollars.
Q. Mark: When you found out you were going to be on the show did you try and learn new skills like building a fire, building shelter, etc?
A. Jaime Dugan Survivor China: I was a girl scout for over 10 years and knew a ton of camping things. I tried to brush up on Chinese and read some survival guides. I got a personal trainer and started doing some boot camps. I also put on 12 pounds prior to the show going on since I knew we would all lose weight rapidly.
Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: Since were talking about losing weight what’s up with Courtney she is so tiny.
A. Jaime Dugan Survivor China: That’s genetics, the whole family is tiny and Courtney eats a ton of food.
Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: Talk to me about your relationship with Eric.
A. Jaime Dugan Survivor China: On the show Eric was my best friend, he is from my area and is also my age. Eric never lied and I felt very comfortable with him. Out there I would not think of us trying to have a relationship. Now that the show is done taping we will see what happens with Eric and I.
Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: Since were talking about showmances what’s your take on Frosti and Courtney and was that a surprise?
A. Jaime Dugan Survivor China It was a surprise but he did say he thought she was cute prior to moving to their tribe. I think it’s more a friendship with some attraction.
Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: So you guys ran across the blank idol on the ground. James had two hidden in his bag and I assumed you might steal one. Were you not able to steal the hidden immunity idols from others?
A. Jaime Dugan Survivor China: It’s so funny now to think of that idol. When we first found the blank one I wondered who took it off, but assumed it was James. When we walked up on James and he seemed a bit odd. When I found the idols in his bag, I wanted to steal them, but we were told once you find them they are considered personal property and personal property cannot be stolen.
Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: What did you think during tribal council when Jeff tossed the false idol into the fire and Jean-Robert and James started to laugh?
A. Jaime Dugan Survivor China: I assumed it was a fake. Eric and I wanted to check the idol against the one hanging up at other tribe, but didn’t have time. When I did find out it was a fake ,we still tried to use it during game play.
Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: How did you feel about Todd’s comment about you being on the small bike in the back? Did you have a feeling Todd knew about all the idols?
A. Jaime Dugan Survivor China: When I talked to Todd it was all about strategy. I did not know Todd knew James had both immunity idols. My game plan was this: If Todd thought I had one of the idols I assumed he would have everyone vote for Jean Robert instead of me.
Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: Anything surprise you last night when you watched the show?
A. Jaime Dugan Survivor China: I really didn’t know about James. He shared so much information with us about Fei Long. We did think he was with us and it’s hard to see how he played us all. After watching the prior shows I was also surprised to see how I was portrayed.
Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: What was it you didn’t like about how you were portrayed?
A. Jaime Dugan Survivor China: When we threw the challenge and they showed me laughing at Aaron, but I was really laughing at James. Aaron was likable and we all knew how much of a problem it was since he was such a strong player.
Q. Mark RealityWanted.com: Did Frosti vote to have you leave?
A. Jaime Dugan Survivor China: Frosti did vote against me and I think I got wind of it prior to tribal . Fei Long basically told Frosti to vote me out or he would be next. Frosti and I were very close friends. I’m not bitter, in the game of Survivor you have to hold friendship apart from game.
