Biggest Loser 4 - Episode #11 - “Bye, Bye ‘B’ - R.I.P. Red”
Author's web site:

So the Red Team is out of the competition. The first time in Biggest Loser history all shirt colors aren’t represented in the finale. Of course, this is the first year a third team has been added, so that doesn’t really make for a startling surprise. One pound was all it took to push the last of the crimson contestants below the yellow line at weigh-in this week. That would be Bryan!
‘B’ worked out hard; even cut out the low-sodium soy sauce Red Team Trainer Kim Lyons thought may be helping him retain water. But, the four pound loss (270 to 266 @ 1.48%) wasn’t enough to keep him safe when Blue Team Neil lost five (303 to 298 @ 1.65%). Black Team Hollie joined ‘B’ at the elimination table with a three pound loss at the scale (204 to 201 @ 1.47%). But, with the majority of the remaining members part of her Black team, even the most optimistic and hopeful humans sitting at home in front of the tube knew Bryan would be sent packing.
America got to pick this week’s challenge, out of any challenge the contestants’ tackled this season. “God Bless America,” said Neil after seeing the “Poles over Water” challenge, “no stairs, no jump ropes!” Each contestant clung to their poles in an effort to win a week-long vacation with their family at Tamarack Resort in Idaho. Tennis Ace Andre Agassi revealed the reward to the seven remaining players. Apparently, Agassi and wife Steffi Graf left their rackets on the court for luxury condos and built one in the town of Donnelly, about two hours from Boise.
Black Team Members Bill (270 to 266 @ 1.48%) and Julie clung to their big, white poles trying to outlast the other. But in the end, it was Bill who snagged victory at the challenge … again. A few comments from the peanut gallery, trash talking, trying to get Bill to let go, didn’t work. It kind of revealed the other contestants’ disdain for Bill and his ability to rake in the rewards come challenge time. Neil said Bill is a “machine.” Julie, disappointed she won’t be able to take her son to see snow for the first time (in Idaho that is) playfully said if she “could have drownded him” she would have. Ummm Julie, you look fantastic and I love you, but “drownded” Mister Bush, is NOT a word. DROWNED would be, but not “drownded.”
Blue Team Member Nicole should thank the water fairies below for not doing more damage to her head than chipping her front two teeth. The contestants wanted to take a dip in the pool after their challenge and Nicole, mistakenly dove into the cool, refreshing water when the tiles and signage clearly stated against doing so. In seven feet of water, maybe, but in three … not a good idea. The pretty girl had a dentist, or two, working to repair the damage, but girlfriend got right back in the gym with no fail! Bob worked her BUTT off, literally! She lost six pounds this week (218 to 212 @ 2.75%). The doctors informed her she has lost 74 pounds of hydrated fat and gained 11 pounds of muscle. So, even if her numbers aren’t huge on the scales, she’s lost the most fat of any player on the Biggest Loser Campus this season.
Julie was the biggest loser on the scales this week, percentage-wise (176 to 171 @ 2.84%) which surprised her since her concern was the smaller she got, the numbers at the scale would follow suit. Julie has also lost the most percentage of girth from her waist at 45%. Black Team Isabeau’s (234 to 230 @ 1.71%) pre-diabetic condition is now gone. Doctors told her this week her insulin levels are the best of the group! Bill is no longer on blood pressure medication and his levels are in the normal range and Bryan’s cholesterol went from a dangerous 279 points to a normal 176.
All this great, healthy news from simply changing their daily habits from being sloths and couch potatoes, to eating right and exercising! Congratulations! These contestants are not only inspiring America and changing their lives, they’re saving them as well! Bryan, the high school music teacher from Georgia, even said before leaving the BL Campus, he now “has a new lease on life, at the start of being a new person.” Amen!
Next week:
A SLICE OF TEMPTATION — Its back to work for the remaining six contestants this week, as they leave campus to put all they’ve learned about staying fit to the test. Can they avoid temptations while working at a pizzeria? At the challenge, the contestants punch their way to new heights for a one-pound weight advantage. Then after a close weigh-in, the players must send another friend packing.
