Beauty and the Geek 3, Episode 1, Beauty Tori bombed!
The third season of “Beauty and the Geek” popped off as a very pleasant viewing experience.  You may know the premise but be prepared for an exciting and unexpected outcome.  Eight beautiful ladies and eight intelligent guys pair up and aim to win $250,000.  Executive producers, Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg have managed to make this “social experiment” an enjoyable time of television for a vast array of viewers.

OBJECT:  Each gender gets a separate challenge and the winner makes their team safe from elimination.  The winning team picks another team for one of the two spots in the elimination round.  The two eliminated teams face off in a question/answer session.  The team with the most points stays in the game sending the losing team packing.
MISSION:  The geeks are to bring out the beauties “intellectual side” and the beauties are to show the geeks “life beyond books”.  The winning team shares a quarter of a million bucks.

Jennylee (22, U.F.C. Ring Girl) looking for books

The first challenge consisted of the girls finding three books in a library using the Dewey Decimal System.  Once the books were found they removed three tasks for the geeks to take on.  Each guy had to hit the streets and do the following: have someone put suntan lotion on their back, get a phone number from a girl, and use someone’s cell phone.  Cecil was the first gal to find her books, which gave Nate a head start on his tasks and they essentially won the challenge.

Teammates, Cecille (27, Bikini Model) and Nate (21, Singer in Star Wars Band)

This gave them immunity from elimination and first pick at the pair to put up for elimination.  Tori had trouble to the point of tears.  She struggled finding her last book, which resulted in her and Sanjay not standing a chance to win the competition.
Back at the house, host Michael Richards give the pairs the chance to quit the game for cash.  They are presented with $20,000 (to split).  Although a few consider taking it, no one gives in.
The next challenge for the beauties was to be a telecaster who reports on current events.  They will be interviewing the co-author of the book, “Freakonomics”.  The geeks are to perform a stand up comedy routine before an audience.

Teammates, Sheree (25, Former Hooters Waitress) and Piao (25, Only kissed one girl)

Teammates Drew (21, Trekker) and Erin (25, Voice Teacher)
All of the geeks gave their best shot at their stand-up comedy routine.  Drew was a little dry.  Scooter had a studious approach.  Piao thought the crowd like vulgarity and asked the crowd if they knew what good pussy was!  Uhhh ya!?!?  Nate and Niels actually received a few genuine laughs from the audience.  Matt and Sanjay’s bits were pretty cheesy.  Mario came over quite confident and personable.  He joked about having the Super Mario Brothers video game tune in his head while making out with a girl as he portrayed fondling her to the beat.  The crowd voted Nate as the winner.  (Note:  2nd win for Nate and Cecille)
The crew gathered at a television studio for the ladies would play anchorwomen.  They were to read from a teleprompter and interview an expert on world affairs.  This person was Stephen Dubler, co-author on the book the girls were given to study, Freakonomics”.

Professional reporters were judging the ladies.  It was obvious that most of the girls didn’t read most of the book.  But Sheree came through strong with good questions and great poise.  The judges and her teammate Piao were impressed, which led her to winning the competition.
Tori and Sanjay have an uncomfortable talk about Tori’s efforts in the game.  At elimination, team Nate and Cecille chose Sanjay and Tori to be on the block.  Team Sheree and Piao chose Erin and Drew.
The two chosen teams take turns answering questions.  The women answer questions on current and men have to know about things that women talk about.
Tori’s had to answer when the next presidential election would occur.  She said November 2006, and most of us know it’s in 2008.
Erin from the opposing team was asked the name of Japan’s currency.  She answered it correctly with, “yen”.
Tori’s next question was to give the words of the acronym NYSE on Wall Street.  She did not know the answer, New York Stock Exchange.
Erin’s last question was quite easy as she was asked to name one of the authors of the book, “Freakonomics”.  She answered correctly.
The score was 2-0 with team Drew and Erin in the lead.  Sanjay was asked, “What sitcom is inspired by the childhood experiences of Chris Rock?”  Sanjay had no clue, which led to he and his teammate Tori officially losing.

The first eliminated teammates, Tori (27, Model) and Sanjay (24, Virgin)

As Tori packed her bags she tells us, “It hasn’t hit me that I am eliminated.  I didn’t expect to go home that early.  I wasn’t here long enough to prove myself.”
Sanjay said, “This was a huge opportunity being here.  Unfortunately I wasn’t able to capitalize on the opportunity.  But I did enjoy my time.  I met a bunch of new friends.  I did take in a lot of advice from the different women in the house.  If I could just say one thing to the beauties, I’d just say just give geeks a chance.  We’re great people.”
